Title: Mastering Prompting with ChatGPT for EFL Teaching Material
In the rapidly evolving landscape of English as a Foreign Language (EFL) education, the integration of cutting-edge technology is more critical than ever. This workshop aims to equip EFL educators with the skills to leverage ChatGPT, a state-of-the-art conversational AI, for creating compelling and effective teaching materials. The session will commence with an insightful introduction to ChatGPT, elucidating its capabilities and relevance in the EFL classroom. Participants will then delve into the basic principles of prompting, a crucial aspect of interacting with ChatGPT to generate targeted and meaningful content. The core of the workshop will focus on the five essential components of effective prompting: Role, Action, Context, Examples, and Formatting & Constrain. Each component will be thoroughly explained, and their collective impact will be demonstrated through a practical example. The workshop will culminate with a hands-on session, offering participants the chance to put their newly acquired skills into practice. Under guided instruction, attendees will use ChatGPT to create their own EFL teaching materials, thereby bringing the workshop’s key lessons to immediate, practical use.
