Mixed-ability classrooms require teaching approaches that address diverse student needs. Building on the principles of differentiated instruction developed by Carol Ann Tomlinson, this presentation explores how teachers can adapt content, process and product to support learners with different readiness levels, interests and learning profiles. Participants will see how Microsoft Copilot, the AI platform approved by the Ministry of Education, can assist teachers in generating differentiated materials, activities and assessments efficiently, helping them support both weaker and stronger learners within the same English classroom. By the end of the webinar teachers will be able to:

• adapt and simplify texts for different ability levels
• generate tiered classroom activities
• create mixed-ability worksheets
• design alternative assessment tasks
• develop speaking and writing activities with varying levels of challenge

Kassianos Kourris is a secondary education English teacher with extensive experience in teaching English as a foreign language. He currently teaches at Saint George Lyceum of Lakatamia. He holds a Master’s Degree in Career Counseling and Guidance from European University Cyprus and has a strong interest in the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in education to enhance language skills, automate assessments, and create interactive lessons. As a Board Member of the Pancyprian Association of English Teachers (PAET), he actively contributes to the advancement and improvement of English language teaching in Cyprus. Kassianos also has expertise in computer science and programming and is a Certified Computer Trainer by the ICDL organization. He has experience in online broadcasting and digital content creation, managing a YouTube channel that features educational and socially relevant content. By combining innovative teaching methods, technology, and community engagement, Kassianos Kourris is interested in promoting a modern, interactive, and effective educational experience
