Το Τμήμα Αγγλικών Σπουδών του Πανεπιστημίου Κύπρου διοργανώνει διαγωνισμό Ποίησης. Ο διαγωνισμός απευθύνεται σε προπτυχιακούς φοιτητές των τμημάτων Αγγλικών στο Πανεπιστήμιο Κύπρου, Πανεπιστήμιο Λευκωσίας και Ευρωπαϊκό Πανεπιστήμιο Κύπρου.

POETRY COMPETITION

The Department of English Studies of the University of Cyprus announces its fourth annual undergraduate poetry competition.

Each student may enter only one poem in the competition.

The poem must be in English, up to 50 lines, original and unpublished.

The winner and up to three runners up must be present to read their poems at the award ceremony on 18 March 2015. Prizes will be in the form of book vouchers for the Moufflon bookshop. The first prize will be a book voucher to the value of fifty euros and the runners up will receive a twenty euro book voucher each.

Your personal details and the title of your entry should be sent separately to the above postal address. Please do not include any personal details in your electronic submission and do not send the poem as an attachment. The poem should be in the body of the e-mail.

1. Copies of entries cannot be returned and no correspondence will be entered into.

2. All entries must be received by Sunday 15 March 2015. The winners will be announced on the Department of English Studies website, and will be notified directly.

3. There is no fee to enter the competition.

4. All entries must be typed or word-processed on A4 or foolscap paper, and attached with a paper clip to a typed sheet giving the following: your name, address, a contact telephone number and e-mail address, the title of your poem, and how you heard about the prize. Please do not use staples and ensure that your name does not appear on the entry itself.

5. Poems must be in English and your own original and unpublished work. Copyright remains with you as author, but your entry will be deemed to give consent to first publication in journals nominated by the Department of English.

6. The submission of an entry will be deemed to indicate full acceptance of the above conditions of entry to the competition.

7. The competition is open to all registered  undergraduate students on the BA English Studies programs at the University of Cyprus, the University of Nicosia and the European University of Cyprus, with the exception of previous  prize-winners.
