Το Τμήμα Πολιτικών Μηχανικών και Μηχανικών Γεωπληροφορικής του Τεχνολογικού Πανεπιστημίου Κύπρου ανακοινώνει την προσφορά θέσης «Συνεργάτη Καθηγητή» στον Καθηγητή Κύπρο Πηλακούτα από το Πανεπιστήμιο του Sheffield του Ηνωμένου Βασιλείου, ο οποίος συνεργάζεται με το Τμήμα Πολιτικών Μηχανικών και Μηχανικών Γεωπληροφορικής από το 2007 μέχρι σήμερα στον τομέα της «Κατασκευαστικής Καινοτομίας - Construction Innovation» και έχει προσφέρει τα μέγιστα στην ερευνητική δραστηριότητα του Τμήματος. Ο Καθηγητής Κύπρος Πηλακούτας αναμένεται να συμβάλει στη περαιτέρω ανάπτυξη των εργαστηρίων του Τμήματος, στη διδασκαλία και ανάπτυξη προηγμένων μαθημάτων, στην προετοιμασία ερευνητικών προτάσεων και στην συν-επίβλεψη διδακτορικών φοιτητών.
Σύντομο βιογραφικό
Professor Kypros Pilakoutas [BSc(Eng) University of London, ACGI Imperial College, DIC Imperial College, PhD University of London, DSc (Eng)], is the Professor of Construction Innovation in the Civil and Structural Engineering Department of the University of Sheffield (ΘΚ), Director of the Centre for Cement and Concrete, the Chairman of the Concrete and Earthquake Engineering Research Group as well as Manager of the Structures Laboratory. Prof. Pilakoutas is the Departmental Commercialisation Champion and is a Director of two technology spinout companies. He has over 25 years of research and teaching experience and his research is in the fields of structural concrete, FRP and fibre reinforcement, repair, construction innovation and earthquake engineering. He has supervised 44 PhD students and published over 400 papers in refereed journals and conference publications.
He has vast experience in managing European Research networks/projects and has coordinated more than 12 EU projects. Professor Pilakoutas’s research and research management expertise is recognised internationally and he is regularly invited to give keynote presentations as well as assess strategic research proposals internationally, for example the EC, UK, USA, Australia, Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Korea, Italy, Switzerland, Austria, Norway, Czech, Greece and Cyprus. He has been involved in several strategic review panels, including the European Construction Forum (now ECTP), CEN/Star/ Norbuild and IRACCC. As an inventor (with many patents awarded and several pending) Professor Pilakoutas is also expert in Intellectual Property protection and exploitation.
