Με μεγάλη επιτυχία διεξήχθη το Διεθνές Συνέδριο με τίτλο «H Σαλαμίνα της Κύπρου: Ιστορία και Αρχαιολογία από τους πρώιμους χρόνους έως και την ύστερη αρχαιότητα». Το Συνέδριο έλαβε χώρα μεταξύ 21-23 Μαΐου 2015, στο Πανεπιστήμιο Κύπρου και σε αυτό συμμετείχαν πέραν των 50 Αρχαιολόγων και Ιστορικών από Ευρώπη και Αμερική.
Στο πλαίσιο του Συνεδρίου οι ξένοι επιστήμονες θεώρησαν απαραίτητο να καταθέσουν ψήφισμα για τον Αρχαιολογικό χώρο και τα μνημεία της Σαλαμίνας αναφορικά με την ανάδειξη και τη διάσωση τους ως τμήμα της πολιτιστικής κληρονομιάς της Κύπρου και της Ευρώπης.
Στο ψήφισμα, το οποίο εγκρίθηκε ομόφωνα, διατυπώνεται έντονα η ανάγκη όπως επιτραπεί στη διεθνή πανεπιστημιακή κοινότητα να διεξάγει αρχαιολογική και ιστορική έρευνα όπως συνέβαινε πριν το 1974, ακολουθώντας τους κανονισμούς της ΟΥΝΕΣΚΟ (Πρωτόκολλο της Χάγης 1954). Σημειώνεται ότι τυχόν καθυστέρηση της ολοκλήρωσης της έρευνας δύναται να οδηγήσει στην περαιτέρω φθορά του χώρου.

MOTION
The participants of the International Conference ‘‘Salamis 2015’’ organized by the Department of History and Archaeology of the University of Cyprus with the collaboration of the Department of Antiquities of Cyprus to re-launch the study of the archeological site of Salamis, violently interrupted in 1974 for reasons totally independent of any scientific motif, are conscious of our responsibility to safeguard, preserve and develop the study of a site of fundamental interest to the history of Europe.
For these reasons they augur that, given the unsustainable nature of the present situation and the dramatic urgency, the political institutions agree to undertake the formulation of a global project to ensure that the site is available to all cultural institutions and above all, to those who had an official role in the past, thus respecting the UNESCO regulations (the Hague Protocol 1954) and the cultural interests of the European Union.
MOTION
Les participants à la Conférence internationale ‘‘Salamis 2015’’, organisée par le Département d’Histoire et Archéologie de l’Université de Chypre, avec la collaboration du Département des Antiquités de Chypre, afin de reprendre et relancer les études sur le site archéologique de Salamine, brutalement interrompues en 1974 pour des causes indépendantes de tout intérêt scientifique ; conscients des responsabilités qu’imposent à chacun la sauvegarde, la conservation et le développement des études sur un site d’importance cruciale pour l’histoire de l’Europe, souhaitent que les responsables politiques, en considération du caractère insoutenable de la situation présente et de son urgence dramatique, se chargent d’un projet de solution globale pour déterminer la libre disponibilité du site archéologique de Salamine, comme par le passé, pour toutes les instances culturelles intéressées, et d’abord pour les institutions qui en avaient la charge, en respectant les règles de l’UNESCO (The Hague protocole 1954) et l’intérêt culturel de l’Union Européenne.
